I understand that I'm now probably burning the bridge with this post but I can no longer sit idly by and not say anything about the way Deadhook.

Such is the case of one Russell Culver of DeadHook Motorsports in Troy, . The stock Focus ST makes horsepower at the crankshaft; this.

In this case, the top ring land is. Most shops seem to operate as his way. The cylinder heads are worked in-house at DeadHook Motorsports, although there is no porting performed on this particular casting, as Culver has plans to dyno-test the stock casting versus one of his hand-ported units in the near future. Gas mileage was tanking. I don't know how these people stay in business.

Tuning form was completed and sent back to Russ. Contacted Isaac for a status. Russ also said he would only issue me a partial refund, if I still wanted it, but gave me his word that he would start to work with me and that it wouldn't take another 5 weeks.

Extremely annoyed that I couldn't even get all of my money back that I paid for services to didn't receive, I reluctantly agreed to continue so I could at least have something for the money and time spent waiting. I was tuning for "lean cruise" and as a result, this first revision had the fuel mapping off.

I sent Russ a number of data logs. Gas mileage was tanking. However, I will acknowledge the fact that at WOT, the car was pulling like a maniac with minimal negative corrections. I removed the tune because of the fueling situation. This week marks week 5 of me waiting. I have since gone to another vendor and have completeled the 91 map. I feel as though I have fallen into a "bait and switch" with DHM. Now, granted I was impatient because I wanted to get started right away, I refuse to accept the lack of customer service and basic communication I've been subjected to.

As someone who works in business, it is unacceptable to me that I have paid for tuning services and not received them after 2 months. I don't care how busy someone is, no one's that busy to read data logs and make adjustments. I really hope this hasn't been happening to anyone else in the RS or ST community but part of me would feel better if it has so I wouldn't feel like I'm the only one. I'm not here to tell anyone what to do in terms of who they should select to tune with, but I wanted to give people an idea of the experience I've had.

All I can keep saying is that I'm disappointed because not only am I not new to tuning in general I come from a BT FoST , I was a returning customer and really liked the power my RS was making even after just one revision. Even if I were to receive a refund, DHM cannot rectify the situation enough for me to ever do business with them again. ControlNode , gte , focusrs and 1 others like this.

Sorry you had this poor experience, but tuners are a dime a dozen. SurfCfl , focusrs and Xesvuli like this. Refunded after 60 days, but took a lot of back and forth.

Guess I won't be going with DHM when the time comes. Originally Posted by Haze. Par for the course for most shops. I've had my motor built for six months and still have not hit the rollers yet. Most shops seem to operate as his way. Thanks for the review, those of us who haven't decided who to give our money to really appreciate it. ControlNode , focusrs and Paolo like this. That really sucks, and I know your pain. I ordered a tune from panda motorsports nearly 3 months ago and never even got the base tune. I requested a refund which they agreed too yet never got that back either. I don't know how these people stay in business. Charge backs with them are quick and amazing.
